“Te veo, Me veo” Book and Exhibition from Lidia León, un Punta Cana

The fund from the sale of the book will benefit the scholarship 

Program that Fundación Lileón has for youngh people at Chavón, La Escuela de Diseño.

Punta Cana, La Altagracia- Grupo Puntacana Foundation, BlueMall Puntacana and Fundación LiLéon exhibit the work “Te Veo, Me Veo”, of the outstanding architect and artist Lidia León; an interactive work that reflects a symbolic set of historical and philosophical references, which invites to see oneself reflected in the other. 

The inaugural presentation of the work was held at the central atrium at BlueMall Puntacana on July 7, 2022, and featured the participation of Haydée Rainieri, president of the Grupo Puntacana Foundation´s patronage, and member of the Board of Executives at Grupo Puntacana; and Lidia León, president of Fundación LiLeón and author of the book. 

The main presentation was made by Marianne de Tolentino, art critic and director of National Gallery of Fine Arts. Lourdes Saleme, member of the Fundación Lileón´s Board of Directors and responsible of the design of the book; Marjorie Osío, General Manager of BlueMall Puntacana; Jake Kheel, Vicepresident of Grupo Puntacana Foundation, among other executives from both foundations were present at the event. 

“The experience of this work is very personal, but it contributes to the collective experience. It is interesting to observe the dynamics of the human being and how the work can revive moments of your life. It is a call to know yourself through your relationship with others”, highlighted the artist Lidia León at the time to thank the people involved “to make this exhibit a reality”. 

Haydée Rainieri expressed that “promote art and culture has always been part of the Grupo Puntacana Foundation´s DNA; this occasion is very special for me, as it represents an opportunity to continue offering unique cultural experiences for the families in the touristic area of Punta Cana. Our community keeps growing, and every day show us the interest in supporting the Dominican art and culture. With this exhibit, we offer the possibility of developing into life itself through art and live a new interactive experience.”

The work has toured important stages in the Dominican Republic and abroad, standing out at the 58th edition of the Venice Art Biennale, an international showcase for contemporary art. The work will be available for the enjoyment of thousand of tourists and local visitors from July 7 to October 7, 2022, in the central atrium of BlueMall Puntacana. 

The book is available for sale at the Kah Kow store, located near the gastronomic area of BlueMall Puntacana, and the funds raised will go to Chavón La Escuela de Diseño scholarship program – of Fundación LiLeón- for young people with limited resources.
